Complaints-Appeals Policy
Nature and Procedure of Complaints
In case of any of the following complaints, the journal's editorial team will acknowledge receipt of the complaint and initiate an investigation in line with the relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) policies and procedures, where applicable.
a. Allegations of Misconduct:
If an allegation(s) of misconduct, such as plagiarism, falsification of data, or fabrication of data, is made, the aggrieved party may formally complain to the Editor.
b. General Complaint:
Any person may reach out to the editorial management with a detailed written description of the concern and information supporting the matter at journals@idea.org.pk or editor@idea.org.pk
Appealing the Publication Decision
At any stage, the Editor has complete discretion to determine whether a manuscript is appropriate for consideration in the journal. The editorial management of IDEA-PG believes that journal editorial teams should not decline manuscripts without providing a proper and valid statement of the rejection decision to the author(s).
The editor's decision to reject the manuscript is only eligible for a formal appeal if the author(s) believe that the editor's decision was based on an error in the manuscript review process. In such cases, the author(s) may file a formal appeal against the rejection decision. However, the author(s) need to provide a written statement with a detailed description of the error they believe has occurred and affected the manuscript review process.
If, in any case, the author(s) are not convinced and believe that a publication ethics breach has affected or influenced the editorial team's decision to reject the manuscript. In that case, they may contact the editor with a detailed written description of the concern and provide relevant supporting information.
